Tip: measurements are more reliable than label-only conversion. Brand charts and fit preference still matter.

Why clothing size conversion needs measurements

Clothing labels are not universal. A US medium, UK 12, or EU 40 can fit differently depending on the brand, cut, fabric, and country. That is why this converter shows the measurement range next to every label conversion.

How to measure

Use a soft tape measure over light clothing. Measure bust or chest at the fullest point, waist at the natural waist, and hips at the fullest point. Keep the tape level and comfortable, not tight.

If you are between sizes

Compare the brand’s garment chart, fabric stretch, and your preferred fit. For fitted garments, the larger size may be more comfortable; for relaxed cuts, the smaller nearby size may still work.

Frequently asked questions

Are clothing size conversions exact?

No. Clothing labels vary by brand, country, garment cut, and fit preference. Use this as a general guide and compare the brand chart before ordering.

Is measurement matching better than label conversion?

Usually. Body measurements are more useful than label-only conversion because a medium or size 10 can vary from one brand to another.

Does this cover children’s sizes or bra sizes?

No. Kids and bra sizing need different charts and rules. This page focuses on common adult women and men clothing labels and body-measurement ranges.
